Waka Ama, or outrigger canoeing, is part of the culture of Pacific Islanders and has grown popular as a sport. Waka Ama programs and competitions currently operate in places such as NZ, Hawaii, Fiji and Queensland Australia. With many opportunities to travel the world and compete with peers, Waka Ama competitions are expanding every year. The Sixth Child is currently exploring opportunities to sponsor and mentor youth involved, and to encourage other teenagers in Victoria to train and participate in the championship titles.
