Christmas is all about the spirit of giving and giving can be done at any time of year. With the help of ‘Creating the Magic,’ the brainchild of Naomi Derrick, we are seeking to help thousands of children who are in need of warm clothes for school and educational supplies this winter with our special charity event on Sunday 24th July 2022 at the Dingley International.
How can we help?
‘Creating the Magic’ is aligned with The Sixth Child – a charity run to help every six children in Victoria who don’t have school supplies, school uniforms and gifts at Christmas. We bring a little magic to children’s lives through the generous donations and raffles from our amazing sponsors and businesses.
Naomi created ‘Creating the Magic’ in 2019 in memory of her late husband Peter Derrick, a man who loved bringing joy to so many people’s lives by being the consummate Santa. He always lit up a room and was loved by all children and parents alike. His spirit keeps giving, and in ‘Creating the Magic’s’ first year, we raised $28,000 to enable The Sixth Child to help so many beautiful children feel that they are loved.

To continue Peter’s legacy, by putting a smile on every child’s face, ‘Creating the Magic’ is wanting people just like you to help raise another $50,000 at our charity event, on top of the $25,000 already raised with raffles and donations. We won’t stop fundraising until we reach our target, so give now, attend our charity event on the 24th July or sponsor a gift for our auction, knowing that every little cent goes towards helping a young child feel warm tonight and feels ‘normal’ at school, with the same opportunities as their classmates.
